As the weeks went on the questions in the field blogs got more in depth and got us to think a lot more. Each week expanded a little more than the last and got us thinking of teaching as a whole and not just about the classroom that we were in.
I have seen the curriculum incorporated in different ways within the classroom which was very interesting to see. Some different ways were through stories, games, dances and art activities. I am sure that there are many more ways as I was only in the room once a week for a few weeks.
This experience as a whole was wonderful. I have learned so much that no class could ever teach me and this is only my first year. I look forward to the years to come now because I finally caught a tiny glimpse of what it feels like to inspire kids and that is what I want to do. This experience has definitely confirmed my choice to become an educator. I can honestly say that I had the greatest cooperating teacher to begin with. She always found a way for us to get involved with the class, and we even got to teach a little game and read a story. Sharon Gudereit is the most positive and driven person I know. She works hard to create lessons for her kids and involve everyone. She has inspired me to want to be a great teacher and aspire to have kids excited to come to my class every day.
When I finish my education and work to become a full time teacher I hope to have a very inclusive classroom, meet the needs of every single student, and inspire youth to love school and keep up the drive to learn.
I am so glad that I had this experience with my partner Jayla Brinkworth! She was so fun to talk with and get to know and see that she was just as excited to be in the classroom as I was! I can't wait until the next field experience!
