In our group discussion forums one week, my group had discussed what we think an inclusive classroom looked like and we came up with these ideas:
- All of the kids should be working together and involved.
- An inclusive classroom is one where all children, regardless of ability, are able to fully participate in the daily classroom activities.
- The classroom should be accessible to them in every way, and there should be resources available to aid them with learning
- An inclusive classroom is also very accepting with the children working together in a manner of different ways to accomplish different things.
- Not necessarily every student would be working on the same task at the same time, but there would still be similar learning outcomes customized to the students capabilities.
These are just a few ideas of when my fellow students and I thought inclusion looked like within the classroom, and I'm sure that other teachers would have different ideas.
